When a person can’t or won’t pay a bill, one recourse available to creditors is to get a monetary judgment against him. Usually, the judge orders the money to come directly from the defendant, but in some instances, a third party may be liable for the funds. The order will usually be for a certain percentage of money to be taken out of each pay check until the bill is paid.
