Costco employees kick off their 2009 campaign and accept the Spirit Award for Top Performing Campaign in the “Business” sector, recognizing their outstanding participation in the 2008 United Way campaign. Costco employees continually prove their dedication to the community through a very successful United Way campaign, and other initiatives. In 2008, almost 98% of Costco employees supported the campaign, and with the Costco corporate matching program raised almost $27,000.

The Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign Kicks- Off at the DFO Auditorium in October 2009, announcing their goal of raising $190,000!!!

Jannsen Ortho employees participate in a United Way Day of Caring™ in October. Day of Caring™ brings our corporate partners together with community groups in a volunteer experience that allows the employees to see first hand, and to participate in community work. Gary & Mavis of Jannsen Ortho spent the lunch hour at The Gathering Place, assisting with the preparation and serving of a hot meal to over 100 individuals.

GCWCC Volunteers Brian & Erin sell tickets on a Gourmet Lunch for 8 (through the Treasury Board). The ticket sale raised $2495.00 for the Treasury Board department, proceeds going to the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign.

On December 2, 2009 CIBC Employees participated in a United Way Day of Caring™ event at the St. John’s Women’s Centre. CIBC donated $500 toward the Women’s Centre’s Christmas Gift program and assisted with decorating and wrapping gifts in preparation for the Holiday Party being held for clients and families.
