211 NL is the front door to your community

What is 211 Newfoundland and Labrador?

211 is the information line that connects people to the complete range of: Government, Community, Health, and Social Services available in Canada. It can be accessed by anyone in Newfoundland and Labrador by phone, chat, web or downloadable app. If you need help with any non-emergency services simply dial 2-1-1 from any phone in the province, or go online at www.nl.211.ca.

211 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and features a live navigator in real time. It has a language capacity supporting over 150 Languages. Wait times are minimal (less than a minute). It’s free and confidential. Follow ups are provided when needed!

VRS support is available through 211 NL’s toll-free number: 1-855-276-9072, which is also available to non hard-of-hearing callers who are unable to use the standard 211 for any reason.

United Way Newfoundland and Labrador is proud to be a founding partner of 211 NL, by providing funding and advocacy for the program. We are committed to supporting 211 NL so that it is here to support our province through whatever may come our way.

Our Impact:

211 NL launched on October 15th, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that swept across the country. While it was one of the last services to come online in Canada, it quickly stepped in to fill the critical space it was needed and began to connect Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to services right away.
