Our Supporters

We partner with, and count upon the generosity of over  100 businesses and organizations in Newfoundland & Labrador that currently participate in our annual workplace campaigns.

Our workplace partners rally together each fall to engage their employees to give back and support our communities. Funds are raised through payroll deductions and special events in the workplace.

Workplaces are also involved in other ways including event sponsorship, volunteer activities and building capacity within the communities we serve.

Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC)

The Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) engages federal public service employees and retirees in a combined effort to raise funds and donate time for those in need.  It is the largest and most generous workplace campaign in Canada and takes place annually between September and December. Last year employees and retirees donated an incredible $29.9 million.

Through the GCWCC, federal employees and retirees as well as current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces and the RCMP can support United Ways/Centraides, HealthPartners or any of the other registered Canadian charities of their choosing.

In Newfoundland & Labrador, federal employees and retirees have contributed in excess of $2.4 million since 2007.

Leadership Donors

A leadership donor is an individual who donates $1200 or more annually to the United Way NL campaign. Apart from the dollar value, a leader is someone who connects, takes action and inspires others. Leadership donors at United Way Newfoundland and Labrador see those in need and extend their hand and their heart with generous gifts.

Every gift goes on to change the lives of thousands of people in your community, making it that much stronger.  Since 2005, our leadership donors have contributed over $2 Million dollars to United Way – that’s a lot of funding to well deserved organizations!

United Way Newfoundland & Labrador coordinates several key community events annually.  Sponsorship often covers costs of these events in their entirety, allowing us to invest more funds directly into the community.  Events with sponsorship opportunities include:

  • Day of Caring
  • Community Celebration (Community Fund grants & Corporate Recognition)

United Way is happy to offer various forms of corporate engagement opportunities through sponsored events, gifts to raffles, and more!

United Way will promote your sponsorship through recognition on marketing materials, social media, and recognition in United Way documents.
