2023 Community Fund Applications
Organizations that are not Registered Charities or Qualified Donees must apply in partnership with a Qualified Donee who will act as the fiduciary agent for the project, meaning they will sign the funding agreement and manage the funding on behalf of the Non-Qualified Donee. The application must be filled out naming the Registered Charity or Qualified Donee as the Lead Applicant and the financial documentation requested for uploading will be the Lead Applicant’s.

United Way Newfoundland and Labrador is incredibly lucky to work with dozens of individuals, workplaces and government departments throughout 2022 and is now ready to distribute our Community Fund dollars to charitable groups operating in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any registered charitable organization or other qualified donees as defined by Canada Revenue Agency operating in Newfoundland and Labrador. Visit the CRA website here for further information. Find Community Fund Eligibility & Requirements HERE
Funded organizations from previous years are only eligible to apply in the current year if the report from previous funding has been submitted by the required deadline. Failure to submit a complete and approved report by the required deadline will result in the organization being ineligible to apply for funding from UWNL for two years

When is the deadline?
Wednesday, February 8, 2023
- Once applications are received, the organization primary contact will receive a confirmation email within 5 business days – if you do not receive a confirmation email, it is critical that you contact our office to ensure the application has been received.
- Please be sure to submit all components of your application.
- All successful applicants will be required to sign a Funding Agreement before grant is distributed.
- All successful applicants will be required to submit a funding report at the completion of their program/service detailing its success.
- Organizations granted funding in 2022: A new application will only be considered, if the required 2022 report has been submitted (deadline of 2022 reports – Jan 18, 2023).
