United Way Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to announced that Joe Browne has accepted the position of Interim Executive Director, stepping in for Katie Greene while she is on maternity leave.

Joe Browne M.O.M., is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years of experience in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors, holding senior level positions as Chief of Police RNC; Chief Executive Officer Commissionaires NL; and Chief of Staff during Premier Davis’ administration.

As an active volunteer, Joe has held leadership roles in a number of organizations including Chair of the Board of Governors Commissionaires NL; Chair of the Board Signal Hill Military Tattoo Association; Chair of the National Board Advisory Committee Commissionaires Canada; Member of TELUS Atlantic Canada Community Board; Member of the Rotary Club of St. John’s; Director Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Board of Directors; Director Community Mediation Services NL Board of Directors; Member of the National Awards Committee-Order of Merit of the Police Forces; and Chair of the Board of United Way NL.

Joe became involved with UWNL at its very beginning in 2005 and served as the first Chair of the Community Investment Committee. His association with UWNL continued over the years with roles as member of the Campaign Committee, Board Director, Vice-Chair of the Board, and Chair of the Board (2016-2018).
